Financial tools that can support your studies at SDSI:
Hi everyone!
As promised in the previous SDSI News’ edition, hereby we share information on several financial tools that can support your studies at SDSI:
- Foreign SDSI students, i.e. individuals from 42 countries, can apply for Latvian state scholarship for studies in the amount of 5000 EUR per year. Annual call for applications for scholarships is from February 01 to April 01. When applying for studies at https://apply.sdsi.ma during February 15 – March 15, tick the box “In case I am admitted to SDSI, I will apply for Latvian state scholarship for studies”. We will then prepare a conditional letter of acceptance for each candidate individually, so that you can be in time with the scholarship application. Keep in mind: the most important part in the scholarship application is your motivation. Think about it, don’t leave it as a last minute’s nuisance, be creative and original when justifying your wish to study in Latvia and the SDSI particularly! For more – see the attached pdf brochure, and visit www.studyinlatvia.lv.
- You can apply for a state-guaranteed study loan and student loan. Student loan is meant for covering the day-to-day needs of the students, and its maximum amount is 350 euros per student per month (for the duration of 10 months a year). Study loan is meant for covering the tuition fee, and it equals the study fee. The loan is available to citizens and non-citizens of Latvia, as well as EU/EEA citizens and permanent inhabitants of the European Community holding a valid residence permit for studying in study programmes of accredited and licensed higher education institutions of Latvia. - Erasmus+ and CIRRUS mobility grants can also be used by SDSI students to support the 3-rd semester’s studies at the University of Lapland. These two apply only to students who are actually traveling to Rovaniemi for the duration of the 3rd semester for on-site studies at the University of Lapland. Erasmus+ mobility grant is a 520 EUR monthly stipend, topped with an additional ~ 150 EUR national stipend, for the duration of the 3rd semester. If the internal competition of Erasmus+ grant applications at the Art Academy of Latvia exceeds the available amount of such grants, application for CIRRUS mobility grant is also an option, see here: https://cirrus.artun.ee/mobility-for-students/. Keep in mind: students only qualify for this grant if they have successfully completed previous courses. Application for these grants are organized in the beginning of the 2nd semester.
Save the date – on February 15, 2022 SDSI will start accepting applications for studies at SDSI. Apply here: https://apply.sdsi.ma. Limited No. of students will be admitted – don’t miss your chance!
