Erik studied Industrial and Digital Product Design in Estonia, with an Erasmus year in France, where he specialized in Transportation Design. These experiences equipped him with a versatile toolbox, blending creative and analytical approaches, and increasingly focusing on the systems and services that shape our world. For his thesis, Erik developed a methodological blueprint for studying and planning the future of various small towns in Estonia. He has since continued to refine this work, collaborating closely with a municipality to test his blueprint, while also maintaining his practice as an industrial designer.Erik believes that design plays a crucial role in steering us toward a more sustainable future. He sees the role of a designer as one of significant responsibility, especially in today's rapidly changing environmental and societal landscape. Through his journey in SDSI, Erik aims to refine his skills, enhance his toolkit, and contribute to bringing forth a more selective and qualitative value creation in the world.
